Computational materials science tools:
I am learning density functional theory taught by my supervisor Prof. Maytal. Simultaneously I am also learning quantum chemistry. I will be using VASP/Quantum espresso package for my research. I have prior experience in programming with python for scientific computing application.
I am comfortable with following materials characterization tools like:
- X-ray diffraction
- FTIR
- X-ray photo electron spectroscope
- Scanning electron microscope
- Raman spectroscopy
- Surface area analyzer
- Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS)
- Electrochemical methods (like cyclic voltammetry and linear sweep voltammetry)
- Gas chromatography
I have hands on experience with following instruments:
- Fuel cell/Electrolysis cell test station
- Potentiostat/Galvanostat
- Impedance analyzer
- Source meter
- Dilatometer
- Gas chromatograph
- High temperature gas tight furnaces
- Pellet press
I have experience on testing solid oxide electrolysis cells for co-electrolysis of steam and CO2. Apart from testing cells, I am experienced in various synthesis methods used for producing metal oxides such as solution combustion method, co-precipitation method, citrate compexion method, etc.
